In 1952 Josef Tappeiner, an enthusiastic hunter and fisher, opened together with his wife Katharina Kiniger the hunting and fishing shop in Silandro, the main-town of the Vinschgau Valley in Southtyrol.

At the beginning the shop was situated in the so-called "Sachsalber"-House (Now law-court). After four years in 1956 the shop was relocated in the Main Street 28.

In 1965 the shop was relocated a second time in the Main Street 83, where it is still now. Josef and Katharina Tappeiner worked at the shop for twenty years.

Since 1972 Christine Tappeiner works at the hunting and fishing shop after the death of her father Josef. Hunting and fishing has became a tradition in the family, Christine's children Cornelio, Josef and Angela are enthusiastic fly-fisher.
